FAQ
WHAT ADVANTAGE DOES COLD-PRESSED HAVE OVER OTHER JUICING METHODS OR STORE-BOUGHT JUICE?
When juice is cold-pressed, recipes are first ground, then pressed in a hydraulic press. There is no heat applied, therefore maintaining more nutrients and enzymes then all other types of juicing. We also never pasteurize our juice, which is required for selling in stores. This process creates shelf stable juice with a long expiration date, but when the heat or pressure was applied to pasteurize, most (up to 99.99%) of the vital nutrients and enzymes were lost. Our juice is drinkable for 3-5 days after being pressed. Remember a short shelf life equals a long healthy life!
WHY DON'T WE USE ICE IN OUR SMOOTHIES?
Ice is generally a filler and we prefer to pack our smoothies full of whole foods, superfoods and dairy or nut milks. To keep things cool we freeze many of the ingredients so the smoothies are the most refreshing and delicious.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SMOOTHIES AND COLD-PRESSED JUICE?
Smoothies maintain the fiber in the fruits and vegetables, while juicing eliminates most of the fiber. Fiber is good for you, but drinking juice without fiber is an amazing way for the body to receive the benefits without having to work really hard to process.
DO YOU TAKE YOUR GLASS BOTTLES BACK?
We do! Bring them back freshly washed sans lid and we’ll give you a punch card. For every 10 you bring back in, you’ll get 1 juice for free! Read more about our glass bottles here
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CENTRIFUGAL JUICER AND COLD-PRESSED JUICE?
The company we bought our juicer from put out a GREAT blog post about this; it really shows the differences. It highlights the cleanliness of the cold-pressed process, eliminating the extra fiber that can be in other juicing methods, causing separation and a short life span. Read the article here!
